The stained glass window at the 1925 Art Deco exhibition in Paris
At the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, stained glass held pride of place, reflecting the artistic and technical revival of the era. Present in numerous pavilions, stained glass windows were displayed throughout all areas of the event, from the Grand Palais to the Esplanade des Invalides, and from the Concorde to the Pont de l'Alma, illustrating the diversity of styles and decorative approaches at this major Decorative Arts event.
Throughout this exploration, we will discover the most remarkable creations, those that demonstrate the expertise and creativity of master glassmakers of the early 20th century. Particular attention will be paid to the Stained Glass Pavilion, the official showcase for Class 6 exhibitors, dedicated to stained glass and mosaics. More than a hundred works were presented: stained glass windows, glass roofs, mosaics, cartoons and models, from several dozen of the best French artists and workshops. This conference will bring to life, through images, period documents and proposed restitutions, the brilliance of a luminous art at the crossroads of tradition and modernity.
Since 2006, Laurent-Antoine Le Mog has been involved in numerous projects related to the theme of Expos. This involvement primarily involves historical research and 3D reconstructions to communicate about past, present, and future Universal and International Expositions.
