The Museum’s Storage Facilities
Following an initial phase of studies and construction, the museum’s new storage facilities were fitted out in 2026 with furnishings and shelving, ensuring the museum's collections could be consolidated and preserved under optimal conditions.
After the new museum opened in 2022, a project to develop storage facilities was proposed and supported by DRAC Normandy, with the aim of consolidating and preserving the various collections in a single location under proper conditions.
The project began in 2024 with an assessment of the collections relative to available space, conducted by the architecture and museum planning firm FL & Co. This was followed by a structural analysis by Pax Ingénierie, and subsequently by major structural, carpentry, ventilation, and electrical work overseen by the architecture firm Factum Scenarii.
In 2025, the new storage areas were finally fitted out with furnishings and shelving supplied by the company Bruynzeel.
Led by the municipality of Conches and supported by an exceptional grant from DRAC Normandy covering 75% of the pre-tax cost, the project totaled €180,000 (including tax).
