Exhibition Catalogue: François Décorchemont - The Alchemy of Matter, Color, and Light.

Painter and master glassmaker François Décorchemont (1880-1971) created a body of work during the 20th century that profoundly influenced French decorative arts. From pâte de verre art objects initially inspired by the naturalism of Art Nouveau, then by the aesthetics of Art Deco, to the stained glass windows produced after the Second World War, his creations constantly reveal his exploration of matter, color, and light. Through a selection of three hundred works, primarily consisting of glass paste objects and stained glass, but also drawings, paintings, models, maquettes, and archival materials, drawn from the museum's collections and public and private loans, the Glass Museum, which took the name of the Conches-born artist upon its reopening in 2022, presented his first retrospective in France in 2025, accompanied by a 192-page exhibition catalog.
