Techniques of Tiffany stained glass work

Demonstration by the Bogusia workshop of stained glass work using the Tiffany technique, all afternoon from 2 PM to 6 PM.
Tiffany stained glass is an assembly of glass pieces, colored or not, that can be painted, ground on the edge, set with copper foil, and then soldered along the entire length.
It was in 1890 that Louis-Confort TIFFANY, son of prominent New York jewelers and a painter, managed to simplify the stained glass technique by replacing the lead profile with a copper foil and eliminating paint in favor of opalescent glass production, which could provide a wide range of effects and textures.
He fully embraced the Art Nouveau movement while bringing stained glass into the industrial age.
This method allows for the creation of doors, windows, small objects, and jewelry, as well as larger volumes such as the famous "Tiffany" lamps.
