Crowdfunding for an ukrainian artist
Participate in the purchase of a glass work by Ukrainian artist Ostap Ivanyshyn for the François Décorchemont Glass Museum

In order to support the glass sculptor Ostap IVANYSHYN who exhibited his works at the Tanneries du Pays de Conches, a collective of Conches Friends of Ukrainians has formed to launch a crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising €2,000, which will be used to purchase a glass work from the artist. It will then be donated to the museum.
The art work:
The Wounded, 2023, thermoformed glass, 55 x 50 x 30 cm.
Ostap Ivanyshyn had never planned to create works related to war, but the tragedy unfolding in his country nevertheless influenced his artistic approach. One of the events that prompted him to consider this context was the night attack on Dnieper on January 14, 2023. The missiles had partially destroyed a building, which revealed the lights and comfort of the homes through the gutted facades at night. This vision then prompted the artist to create a work made up of two sides symbolizing the exterior and interior of the buildings damaged by the bombing: one black to evoke the exterior facades of the buildings in the evening, the other colored to evoke the light and life inside the home.
The artist:
Ostap Ivanyshyn (born in 1985) is a Ukrainian artist who creates glass works using fusing and thermoforming techniques. After training in woodworking at the Lviv School of Applied Arts, then at the glass department of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, from which he graduated in 2010, he focused his artistic career on this medium. Since 2016, he has taught glass arts at the same school. In 2024, he also participated in a young artist residency at the Pilchuck Glass School in the United States. In June 2025, a selection of his recent creations will be exhibited at the Tanneries du Pays de Conches.
The project leader:
Over the past three years, large Ukrainian communities have been scattered across Europe. Far from home, far from their loved ones, they nevertheless managed to integrate, adapt, and continue their lives amidst the uncertainty of the conflict. In the Eure region, and more specifically in Conches-en-Ouche, residents have forged strong bonds with these families and met true artists. To nurture these bonds and extend them beyond the painful times of war, the Conches Friends of Ukrainians collective wishes to purchase a work by Ostap Ivanyshyn, entitled The Wounded, which featured in the Fragiles exhibition at the Tanneries du Pays de Conches, in order to offer it to the museum and support the artist in these difficult times.
