World Museum Friends Day 2026
World Museum Friends Day follows the European Museum Friends Day, which was held three years in a row from 2023 to 2025.
Organized every second Sunday in October, this day, now extended to non-European countries, aims to pay tribute to museum friends through exclusive events.
For this new edition taking place on Sunday, October 11, under the theme "Your Museums, Our Passion!", AMCO, the Friends of the Museums of Conches, presents a selection of chosen works in the form of exclusive "mini guided tours" of these pieces.
The goal of this day is to celebrate and highlight the Friends of Museums, a global community of two million enthusiasts, by holding events on the same day around a common theme in each association's country. This first edition of the World Friends of Museums Day is part of the gradual internationalization of the European Friends of Museums Day, which now includes countries outside Europe: South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Burkina Faso, Canada, Lebanon, New Zealand. This day will be a chance for the Friends of Museums to share their passion and help promote their museums. In France, this event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and is under the high patronage of the European Parliament and the French National Commission for UNESCO.
