Pierre d’Avesn and Verlys
Guided tour
Sunday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m.
The little-known artist, Pierre Gire, created designs for Verlys, the art department of the Holophane glassworks in Les Andelys, from 1936 to 1940. A witness to the end of Art Deco and the emergence of modern design, he conceived vases and objects in molded pressed glass with geometric lines and stylized motifs. During this short tour, discover his preparatory drawings and related pieces in the graphic arts gallery.
