Japonisme and Art Nouveau at Val Saint-Lambert

As part of the commemorative exhibition for the bicentenary of the Val Saint-Lambert glassworks, which will take place in 2026 at the Grand Curtius Museum in Liège, the François Décorchemont Glass Museum invites you to attend the conference "Japonisme and Art Nouveau at Val Saint-Lambert", by Isabelle Verhoeven.

Founded in 1826, the Val Saint-Lambert Crystal Works became, within a few decades, an undeniable economic power. Their golden age (1880-1914) flourished during the Belle Époque. It is notably illustrated by remarkable artistic production: richly cut luxury items, Japonisme-inspired works, and then a very original Art Nouveau line designed by Léon Ledru, head of the creation department at Val. Between 1905 and 1908, a new range was developed initiated by the Mullers, who came from Lorraine, to produce vases 'in the Daum style'.

A lecture presented by Isabelle Verhoeven, Curator of the Glass Department of the Grand Curtius Museum of Liège and Curator of the exhibition Japonisme and Art Nouveau at Val Saint-Lambert.
